Apple Cake

This is the everything apple cake. Loaded with apples and cinnamon, and kissed with citrus. I was introduced to a cake just like this when I was a kid and then – no exaggeration – spent the next 30 years nonstop looking for a recipe close enough to help me recreate it.  It screams “serve me for brunch”, but this apple cake knows no limits. It is dessert, it is breakfast, in our house it is sometimes lunch – don’t judge. It is also super gift-able.
